When The High Wears Off
It’s Friday morning, and everything just feels easier. Coffee’s better, emails aren’t as bad, and there’s this feeling like something good is coming. The Friday high is real.
The day moves fast. You finish what you can, let go of what you can’t. People start signing off with “Have a good weekend,” and suddenly the pace slows, emails get shorter, decisions get delayed, and every sentence ends with “let’s circle back Monday.”
Then evening hits. The buzz fades. And suddenly, there’s that familiar weekend voice whispering, “Okay… what is wrong with my life?”
You start reflecting, your habits, your goals, that weird text you never answered. And you think, this weekend, I’ll get it together. I’ll journal. I’ll meal prep. I’ll fix everything by next Friday.
But then next Friday comes, and not much has changed except for UberEats.
A little ridiculous, but very, very human.
Happy Friday. Keep going. We’re all gonna be just fine.
