I Talk To People I Don’t Like
Metaphorically, Yes! I still talk to people I don’t like. People who challenge me, frustrate me, or see the world through a completely different lens.
And you know what? As much as I hate to admit, but I have learned a thing or two.
We don’t have to agree to have a meaningful conversation. In fact, it’s often the people I disagree with the most who teach me the most about perspective and the power of listening without needing to win.
Let’s be honest: everyone’s got their thing. Something they know, do, or understand better than you ever could. Whether it’s a life lesson they’ve lived, a skill they’ve mastered, or a story only they can tell.
I have a friend who loves sushi, but I can’t stand it. She thinks raw fish is amazing, while I think it tastes awful. She also thinks I’m crazy for even thinking of Nihari in the heat of Abu Dhabi. But we laugh, we debate, and we grow.
Because sometimes, the people who challenge you the most are the ones who help you grow the deepest. It’s not always easy, but it’s always worth it.
