Create More Than You Consume
In this age of endless content, LinkedIn Learning, Coursera, YouTube, and, of course, TikTok! it’s so easy to fall into the habit of consuming more than we create.
We are constantly fed information from videos to articles, podcasts, and books. It’s a world where the opportunities to learn are endless, but what happens after we absorb all of this knowledge? Are we truly turning it into something valuable?
I have spent hours, days, and even weeks on platforms like LinkedIn Learning and Coursera diving deep into courses on leadership, business strategy, and personal growth. I have sat through countless hours of TED talks, absorbed endless tips from YouTube, and read books regularly that have expanded my mind.
There is always something new to discover, something new to master. But here is the question I keep asking myself: have I created something with all that I have consumed? Have I turned that knowledge into something meaningful?
It is so easy to get lost in the consumption. The world is full of inspiration and ideas, each piece of content offering a glimpse into someone else's world.
There is a world of knowledge out there, but if we do not take the time to create, to apply, to build, what is the point of all the consumption?
We need to shift from being passive recipients to active creators. It is not enough to just watch, read, or listen. We need to take what we have absorbed and turn it into something of our own, whether that’s through writing, building, speaking, or doing. Every course we complete, every book we read, every video we watch should fuel the creation of something new.
So, let’s take the knowledge we gain and shape it into something tangible, something real. Whether it’s starting a project, sharing an idea, writing a post, or making a video, we all have the power to contribute to the world.
